My Travel Must-Haves

There are just some items I won’t leave home without.

For the last eight years, my online career has allowed me to help thousands of women create a daily at-home self-care routine for themselves. Together, we prioritize our overall mental, physical and emotional well-being so that we can live our most vibrant lives!

Besides watching them crush personal goals and create expansive lifestyles, my other favourite thing about my job is that it’s location independent.

I can work from anywhere as long as I’ve got some WiFi.

As a result, I’ve spent these years working from home, but also working from literally anywhere in the world.

Travel has become a big part of my norm, (except for 2020’s shenanigans). I’ve got the travel routine down AF, and these five things are absolute staples for me no matter where I go.

My Top 5 Travel Staples

1 . Portable Blender

This bad boy only made its debut on my list over the last two years, but I won’t go back now that I have it. It’s an electronic portable travel blender that I got on Amazon. It charges with a USB adapter, holds its charge SUPER well (I only need to charge it once every two weeks or so), and effectively blends ice, fruit, and my superfood shake powder with water and almond milk for daily smoothies — SO handy if I’m in an airport or pulled over on the highway wanting a seriously quick, healthier snack.

2. Tripod (As pictured above!)

It took me a while to find a tripod I can rave about, but I can whole-heartedly say: This is the one. Another Amazon find. For years, this tripod with bluetooth remote have helped me capture some of the most memorable and important moments of my LIFE (like that day at the top of this blog post— which was the day after I GOT ENGAGED and we wanted to take engagement pics! Squeeeee!) With this thing, I have retired the typical travel floating-head-selfie, or, the too-short-tripod with the low to the ground POV photo.

I will note that I have begun using my Apple Watch as my remote instead of the bluetooth one included with this tripod. Not because it doesn’t work great, it does! But because the face of my Apple Watch is synced to the screen of my iPhone. So, I can now visually see what I am trying to capture on my wrist, and more easily position myself perfectly with the phone’s camera.

I can’t tell you how many people came up to me on our travels through Canada and have said, “Omg, that is SUCH a great idea for selfies!” every time I use this system in front of them. This beats hoping a passerby will be willing to take our photo for us and not run away with my phone, lol.

You NEED this one if you are still searching for a great tripod.

PS: Here’s how that picture I was orchestrating above turned out! *Cries*

3. Microfibre Towels

Traveling abroad and even motorhome life have shown me that an extra towel is always a good idea. Having one that is compact, easy to hand-wash, and dries FAST, is even better. Click here to check out my fav microfibre towels; one for full-body (the purple one pictured below), and one grey, medium-sized like it for my hair.

The little black carrying case included with it has been great to put them both inside whenever going to use public showers at camp sites or beaches. They dry in moments, are so compact, and are super lightweight.

Also, having dyed hair, I sometimes use the grey medium-sized one to cover pillows just in case my purple rubs off on any white linens.

4. Online Workouts + Yoga Mat

I’ve been using online workouts to get healthier for YEARS but the beauty of them is how realistic they are for real life AND, you guessed it: Travel life. I can download up to seven workouts for offline accessibility (no WiFi needed!) and press play.

Working out while you travel helps you increase your energy levels for adventuring, sleep better at night, and keeps your mood elevated and positive on those inevitably sucky travel curveballs. I’ve worked out in airports, hostels, campsites, hotels, parking lots, home-sharing — YOU NAME IT — With this virtual gym. So it has been a non-negotiable, health-on-the-go tool for me.

If you’re in need of an effective workout routine that are doable no matter what the circumstances, or how much time you have to work with, this could be a great option for you. I’d love to help support you on your wellness journey whether you’re at home or traveling. Just click here so we can chat more about how to get you started. Here’s what I know for SURE: If I can do this while 27 weeks pregnant and at a random campsite in the middle of Canada, then, so can you!

5. Audiobooks, Podcasts, Playlists

Audiobooks, Podcasts, Playlists have saved us on this camper van road trip! We’ve listened to books from childbirth & parenting (particularly parenting books by the author Emily Osten such as Expecting Better and Cribsheet — AMAZING) to fantasy-land worlds with Harry Potter, and, The Lord of The Rings trilogy.

I have crafted some pretty excellent Spotify Playlists for road tripping and traveling tunes, (feel free to follow me on Spotify to get them!)

And, we’ve loved the Stuff You Should Know Podcast, With Love, Danielle Podcast, and even one that I happen to be a host of, Let’s Put The RAD in Radical which has sparked great conversations for us after I record new episodes.

What are some of your travel staples? I’d love to hear from you!

Share what you can’t travel without with me, because it’s always awesome discovering new items that can join the list!

Be safe and happy travels,

Amanda xx
